Our ambulance teams are staffed by some of the most experienced paramedics and EMTs in the region, helping to make M Health Fairview a leader in Minnesota for emergency and non-emergency ambulance service.
In the EMT role, you will provides BLS transport care to patients during inter-facility transfers and 911 calls as necessary.
1.0 (80 hour every two weeks)
Union Environment
Days, evenings, nights rotating weekend and holidays
Benefit Eligible
Up to $2,500.00 sign-on bonus
Responsibilities
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes.
Provides BLS transport care to patients during interfaculty transfers and 911 calls as necessary.
Assists ALS staff in emergent and non-emergent responses as deemed necessary.
transports patients safely according to clinical and operational guidelines.
Documents patient information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards, department policies/procedures.
Safely and efficiently transfers care of patients to other care providers in appropriate setting (LTC, Hospital etc)
Remains in good standing with the M Health Fairview EMS office of the Medical Director.
Organization Expectations, as applicable:
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making.
Communicates in a respective manner.
Ensures a safe, secure environment.
Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs.
Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.
Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver.
Fulfills all organizational requirements
Completes all required learning relevant to the role
Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures and standards.
Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications to Fulfill Job Responsibilities
Collects and analyses pertinent data and/or clinical findings.
Incorporates clinical findings and scientific evidence in the development, coordination and implementation of an individualized plan of care to achieve desired outcomes
Evaluates progress towards goals and outcomes identifying opportunities for improvement and change
Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (use a mouse, navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc)
Ability to identify, assess, understand, and cope with a serious situation, especially from the moment it first occurs to the point that recovery procedures start
Gathers and integrates critical information, recognizing and addressing underlying assumptions of others, to arrive at effective solutions
Breaks down problems into simple tasks or activities; analyzes relationships among several parts of a situation.
Provides patient educational information appropriate to the developmental level, learning needs, readiness, cultural values, and beliefs of patients and families
Demonstrates practices that support safety with recognition of variations in populations served, preventing harm to patients, families, employees, and themselves
Demonstrates behavior consistent with the standards, scope of practice, ethics, and characteristics of a licensed professional
Administers medications following policies using procedures that assure the highest level of safety all times for all populations
Identifies expected outcomes and develops individualized treatment plan of care
Qualifications
Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B) from MN Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board
Valid drivers license and DMV record that meets M Health Fairview EMS insurability requirements
Preferred
Previous experience driving a medical transportation vehicle
